SWAT Team Arrests Gunman Shooting Into Virginia Homes; Firearms, Magazines Seized: Cops

A SWAT team in Fairfax County has arrested a gunman who they say was shooting into occupied homes.

Sangram Singh Grewal, 26, of Herndon, shot at the back of three townhomes on the 13000 block of Ashnut Lane in Hattontown, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, county police said.

All three homes were occupied at the time, and no one was injured during the incident.

Detectives canvassed the area and found multiple cartridge cases on the back deck of a home. Officers from the department's Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) responded to the address. 

Grewal was arrested on a search warrant. Detectives recovered two firearms, several magazines and ammunition. An Emergency Substantial Risk Order was served and detectives from our TAM unit have been assigned to the investigation.

Grewal was charged with three counts of Attempted Malicious Wounding, three counts of Maliciously Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling, and three counts of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm. He is being held at the Adult Detention Center on no bond.
